[vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]Organizations face unprecedented change as AI, Gen AI, cloud services and digital regulations reshape IT Asset Management. Traditional ITAM tools and taxonomies are inadequate for dynamic, cloud-based services and AI workloads. Few organizations have fully adapted ITAM processes to track, classify and govern transient assets, elastic usage patterns and AI development stacks. Lack of visibility into cloud-based assets, limited coordination between teams and increasing compliance expectations highlight the urgency to modernize ITAM foundations. SaaS adoption accelerates decentralization, creating challenges around visibility, compliance, cost optimization and vendor control. Only a minority manage SaaS centrally; hybrid models introduce inconsistency and fragmented accountability. Shadow IT, poor visibility and compliance risks grow as departments procure their own tools. Organizations increasingly adopt strategies such as extending the FinOps\u2013ITAM partnership, implementing centralized SaaS management, using clearer approval workflows and modernizing governance frameworks to regain control. ITAM is emerging as a pillar of cyber-resilience and regulatory compliance. Yet it is often not included in cybersecurity strategy, creating blind spots. Integrating ITAM with cybersecurity improves threat response, data traceability and regulatory assurance under frameworks such as DORA, NIS2 and the EU AI Act. ITAM also supports operational resilience, providing trustworthy inventories, tracking dependencies and supporting compliance. Preparedness around open-source software remains low, despite significant risks of unmanaged components. The complexity of license management makes intelligent automation essential. Organizations increasingly aspire to monitor cloud spend using intelligent automation, enabling AI-driven optimization, predictive insights and stronger FinOps collaboration. Automation is expected to improve license optimization, contract and vendor management, cloud management, integrated platform visibility and predictive maintenance. Adoption is hindered by poor data quality, unclear ROI, fragmented systems, skills gaps and regulatory uncertainty. Intelligent automation must be embedded in strategic workflows and supported by strong data foundations. Technology with Purpose reflects ITAM\u2019s growing role in supporting environmental, social and governance goals. Nearly half of organizations use ITAM to optimize assets, strengthen compliance and support sustainability, while more expect AI and automation to improve data accuracy and provide actionable insights. ITAM increasingly aligns with enterprise goals such as cost control, risk mitigation and environmental responsibility by extending asset lifecycles, reducing waste, improving license reuse and embedding asset data into reporting. Organizations prioritize AI and automation, improving data quality, centralizing governance, enhancing collaboration with Procurement and FinOps, tackling multi-cloud licensing, strengthening cost management and investing in skills and standardized processes. ITAM must evolve from an operational function to a strategic capability enabling efficiency, resilience, trust and sustainability in an AI-powered, cloud-driven world.[\/vc_column_text]
