Het ziekenhuis wil dat zijn medische teams op afstand, thuis of vanaf andere klinische locaties kunnen werken. Daarvoor is het nodig dat alle applicaties gemakkelijk toegankelijk zijn vanaf elke locatie<!--more--> en apparaat, maar ook dat de toegang veilig is, want het gaat om vertrouwelijke informatie. MCL implementeerde met hulp van PQR een vernieuwde Citrix Application Delivery Controller (ADC) voor veilige applicatie toegang op afstand en flexibiliteit.<\/p>\n<h4>Applicatietoegang op afstand zorgt voor andere eisen<\/h4>\n<p>Sinds 2016 maakt MCL gebruik van Citrix technologie om veilige en eenvoudige toegang tot applicaties te realiseren: Citrix ADC MPX-appliances waren ge\u00efmplementeerd voor load balancing en om externe toegang te beheren. Gezien de leeftijd van deze appliances en toekomstige eisen, is gekozen voor vervanging door een nieuwe generatie ADC: Citrix ADC SDX.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe behoefte aan toegang op afstand bestaat al jaren, maar COVID heeft alles veranderd\u201d, zegt Roelof Mulder, Projectleider MIT bij MCL. \u201cWe hebben toegang nodig tot Epic, tot de Microsoft-werkplektools en tot vele andere gespecialiseerde medische toepassingen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De nieuwe Citrix ADC SDX-appliance is een multitenant-platform waarop gebruikers meerdere virtuele Citrix ADC-instances kunnen inrichten en beheren. De migratie is begeleid door PQR. De overstap van MPX naar SDX cre\u00ebert meer mogelijkheden voor virtualisatie. Hierdoor kunnen meerdere entiteiten in afzonderlijke netwerken met afzonderlijke workloads draaien waardoor MCL het verkeer kan scheiden. Dit maakt het mogelijk om per locatie verschillende policies in te stellen en om de productie- en testomgeving te scheiden.
