Philippe Fransolet
Security Architect, BNP Paribas Fortis
Security practitioner with 25 years of experience gained while working in the financial and telecommunication sectors. If his studies (MSIE) were not originally pointing into that direction, he stepped into the security world with his first professional assignment about using "applied cryptography" to secure financial services. Anecdote: the very first tasks on the job were to read a couple of what were kind-of-alien books about crypto, which came with occasional "spy stories". Can't dream of something more "cool" than that right after school, right? Since, he has worked in different security fields which include governance (policies, standards, risk identification & assessment), engineering (design of security mechanisms) and architecture (bridge conceptual, logical and physical layers, identify threats, propose controls) which is currently his main activity.
