IT & Software Asset Management Heads to Sweden” – Interview with Arthur Piels
After more than twenty years of experience in the Netherlands and Belgium, Heliview Conferences & Training is now expanding into Scandinavia. In 2025, the IT & Software Asset Management Conference will take place in Stockholm for the very first time. We spoke with Arthur Piels, long-time organiser of ITAM Netherlands and ITSAM Belgium, about this exciting next step.
From the Netherlands to Belgium… and now Stockholm
“In March 2026, I’ll be organising ITAM Netherlands for the fifth time – a real milestone,” Arthur says proudly. “Two years ago, we held the first-ever ITSAM conference in Belgium. It was an immediate success – just watch the aftermovie – and it left us wanting more.”
According to Arthur, the move to Sweden feels natural: “The field is growing internationally at a rapid pace. Stockholm is a major tech hub in Northern Europe. It feels like the perfect place to connect our knowledge and networks with the Scandinavian market.”
A rapidly evolving field
Arthur has seen IT & Software Asset Management evolve at lightning speed.
“The adoption of SaaS and multi-cloud environments is skyrocketing. At the same time, FinOps is emerging as a crucial part of cost control. And then there’s the impact of AI – that’s going to be a real game changer for our profession,” he explains.
The content of the conferences is evolving alongside the field: “At ITAM Netherlands, for example, we had an inspiring session from Olivier, who showed how the discipline can create new strategic value.”
Real-world cases and top-tier speakers
One of the hallmarks of Heliview Conferences & Training is the strong line-up of practical case studies. Arthur shares a few examples:
-
Euroclear will present at ITAM 2025 on managing complex licensing and asset management challenges.
-
EUROCONTROL shared unique insights at ITSAM Belgium 2024.
Over the years, the stage has also welcomed leading organisations such as Netflix, Euroclear, Royal Schiphol Group, Wolters Kluwer, and ASML – all global front-runners in their industries.
A place where connections are made
“Our conferences are not just about sharing knowledge,” Arthur stresses. “They are also places where valuable relationships are built. In recent years, we have facilitated hundreds of new connections between attendees, speakers, and partners.”
That network is made possible by strong collaborations with long-term partners such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Crayon, Noventiq, SoftwareOne, PREO Software AG, Tanium, Xensam, Azul, Origina, Deloitte, KPMG, USU Solutions, Foxit, Capefoxx, Leadout, ITAM Solutions, OpenText, 2Data, Insight, and White Raven IT.
Looking ahead: Stockholm 2025
So, what can participants in Sweden expect?
“A programme featuring top international case studies, local Swedish success stories, and a vibrant network of ITAM professionals from across Northern Europe,” Arthur says. “We want to create the perfect mix of inspiration, practical insights, and valuable new contacts. We’re bringing the best of what we’ve learned in the Netherlands and Belgium, but adding a Scandinavian dimension. That’s what makes it so exciting.”
IT & Software Asset Management Stockholm promises to be a new chapter in an already impressive series of events. If Arthur has his way, it will be just as successful as his previous editions – and perhaps the start of even more international adventures.
