I’m, a father, an engineer and a geek. I’ve always been fascinated by technology and get excited whenever something new comes out. Because of this I started my carrier as an engineer. However I found out over the years that I have 2 even greater passions in my work. First one is presenting. It does not mater if it is to a single customer or to a room filed with people, I just love to tell the story, get people excited and even make them laugh. Many people get cold feet just by the notion of speaking to a room filled with people they don't know, I like nothing more, I truly get a kick out of it. Second one is the human aspect of business. All business is done by people and most of the decisions made have less to do with facts and more to do with trust. Understanding this trust and learning how to build it is the most fascinating thing in my everyday work. This is not only limited to customer relationships, but colleagues, local and abroad as well as partners. One particular part of this is people management. Ever since I was a Scouts leader, I’ve been fascinated by this. Helping people develop their skills and grow into their full potential is the most rewording thing there is. For me this is not just a team leader/management responsibility, but something I do automatically when working in a team. Having a good relationship with a team member is more than professional, it is vital to know what makes a person tick, to know when he or she is at their best and try to build the ideal atmosphere for that person to thrive.
